Rovinj

Location of Rovinj on the map of Croatia. The cute little town of Rovinj.
Rovinj is a charming coastal town in Croatia known for its Venetian-style old town, colorful harbor, narrow cobbled streets, and clear Adriatic waters. Located on the Istrian Peninsula, it’s famous for seafood, truffles, sunsets, and landmarks like Church of St. Euphemia, offering a relaxed and romantic atmosphere popular with travelers.

You will find so many German tourists here, so I got a chance to practice some of my conversational German.

For those of you who are looking for halal food, there is a great halal food stand that make amazing doner kebabs, like the kind you get on the Niederdorf in Zurich.

Rovinj is less hectic than Dubrovnik in peak season.

Rovinj feels more “Italian seaside town” than what many people imagine as Croatia.

The Rovinj waterfront feels relaxed and romantic, with cafés, seafood restaurants, and narrow stone streets leading up toward Church of St. Euphemia.
There are a little over 200 narrow wooden steps. The climb is steep and partly open-sided, but the panoramic views over Rovinj’s pastel rooftops, harbor, and the Adriatic are worth it.

A dramatic picture I took of a man and his cat in one of the alley ways.

I even managed to get myself a souvenir!
