We are now in Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Plitvice Lakes National Park is Croatia’s oldest and most famous national park, celebrated for its vivid turquoise lakes, cascading waterfalls, and wooden walking trails that weave directly across the water.

The park contains:

– 16 interconnected lakes

– More than 90 waterfalls

– Thick forest landscapes

– Limestone canyon scenery

– Diverse wildlife including bears, wolves, lynx, and rare birds

It became a national park in 1949 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 because of its exceptional natural beauty and unique geological processes.
